Amazing miracle and unbelievable things occurred in the holy temple of Lord Sri Venkateswara Swamy, Tirumala.  The surprises are still a miracle to many people and its endorses the Lord Sri Venkateswara Swamy and give full faith on the God.

The temple located in a hill about 853 meters above the sea level, it is a holy pilgrimage place very near to Tirupati, Chittoor District, Andhra Pradesh.  The hill spread over around 10.33 square miles and consists of 7 hills the name are Seshadri, Neeladri, Garudadri, Anjanadri, Vrishabhadri, Narayanadri and Venkatadri.  The temple lies on the seventh hill Venkatadri.  Lord Sri Venkateswara Swamy is also called as Balaji, Srinivasa, Govinda & Narayana.

An amazing miracle happened, in the temple of Lord Sri Venkateswara Swamy, on the midnight of 7th November 1979, at that time holy Lord and whole of Tirumala was in a deep sleep.  All the streets of the temple town were vacant.  Except for some sounds hearing, the holy hill was filled with silence.  Exactly at that time breaking all the silence, the miracle was happened suddenly, taking the entire hills of the Tirumala by given shock and surprise.

The big Bronze bells that are hanging in the left side of i.e. Bangaru Vaakili (name of the entrance of deity) started ringing on its own without anyone touching them, giving off loud metal sound entire the Tirumala hill.  The temple staff, the Archakas, the security persons, the police, the pilgrims and the officials who were all shocked by the big sound of the Bronze bells, woke up started and came to the Temple.  They were all stood outside the temple and watching in shock and disbelief and figure out how the big bronze bells which are all guarded by the security persons and locked up could ring on its own, without anybody using them.  Further, the bells rang for about five minutes and later it stopped.

The Temple staffs know well about the doors of the main temple, will be fully locked from outside after the Ekanta Seva (last pooja of the day every night) there is a no chance to enter the temple inside until other-wise opened again the main door for the early morning seva i.e. Suprabhata Seva. Then how the bells ring and who is inside the main temple except for the Lord Sri Venkateswara Swamy.  Many questions were aroused, many doubts were discussed and many more inferences happened, but nothing of these things could come out with a useful explanation.  Lastly, they have come to a decision that by mistake any pilgrim was held up inside the temple and he may bang the bell just to show his identity to the temple staff. It seems to some logic that at last, it may be correct in a human view. After 39 years, I recollected the miracle happened in the temple of Lord Sri Venkateswara Swamy.

How did this wonder happen inside the temple?  What was the significance will happen?  To know the importance about this, we have to go back and know the series of the situation that took place on Tirumala hills.  Few weeks prior to the incidence of this wonder, in the temple those days, there was no water problem in hill and the temple staff impose on the daily water consumption.  After imposing, the limit of consumption of water supply to all the employees’ quarters and also to pilgrim’s cottages.  Because of the water restriction, the water supply minimizes to a certain level they must see the solid solution.  In spite of this, the water level in the Gogarbham Dam and the Alwar tank on the Tirumala hill were drastically come down.  Bore water wells that were in the hill were also drying out (The Papa Vinaasanam Dam was under construction.)

Because the water crisis in the Tirumala hill, Mr. P V R K Prasad, the executive officer of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam, immediately conducted an emergency meeting and discuss the measures to take on the water problem in Tirumala hills.  The Executive Officer discussed with his engineers, they given complete helplessness and they were warned the executive officer, the dams and the borewells in the hills have very little water resources that can be served for a very limited period.  At this period the visiting pilgrims are 25,000 per day and nearly 6,000 employees are residing in the hill.  The engineers are given an idea that imposing of water consumption level reduced to maximum level then only further sanctions would only paralyze the pilgrims and staff lives there.  So there was no further sanction.

Further given suggestion to put restrictions on a limit the number of daily pilgrims visiting Tirumala hills.  The executive officer said most of the pilgrims plan their trip to Tirumala months in advance.  This not good at the part the visiting pilgrims and it is very cruel on our side to stop the pilgrims.  There is, no such rules in TTD books to stop any pilgrim of Sri Venkateswara from visiting the temple.  We are working here to serve the Srivaari pilgrims but not too imposing restrictions on them.
